sitting against mountain ash

I feel it push back

down play those fears

that I had on my mind

 

stay a while on me

see as far an eye can see

 

the slow and careful steps I take

tracing your path

bathe in your wallow

and to share you is to thank you

we all take our share

I breath in your smell and

you feel my stare

 

and I’m desperate to return to you

and I won’t be going to leave again

come to the open mouth that fed us all

enveloped with the warm tongue of home 

won't you stay
